Flounder Fishin'

A few weeks ago, some little fellar at the pier told Ricky how to catch flounder...so, now it is all the rage! :0) Last weekend, he caught two. They earned their spot in the freezer...however, Ricky thought they needed company, so Saturday, he took off to the pier early in the morning and caught quite a stringer of the little guys. Here's a few pictures...

The stringer didn't do them any justice, so we tried to put them on his hands. Still doesn't really show how big they were (are).

Flounder lay flat on one side and kinda camo themselves in the sand. When a bait fish swims by, the flounder shoots outta the sand and snatches a bite! The flounder's eye (on the side he lays on) moves over to the top side, putting two eyes on one side of his body. They are pretty ugly fish, but they are supposed to be good eatin'. We'll find out before long. :0)
